To simply explain who Jason is, I would say "he is a Canadian with his own style that is fluent in Japanese." Actually, before "Canadian" I would probably add "huge!" He is at least 190cm tall, but this does not mean he is scary in any way. Quite the opposite, he has a kind and laid back ora to him. Because his Japanese is so good there is never a problem with communication. He understands the unique nuances of Japanese, so it is easy to explain the unique nuances of the kind of pictures we want to have taken.

Jason often comes to our FMX events but as he is always laid back and never too self assertive, he seems be able cut out the moment and capture the real atmosphere in his photos. As an FMX rider Jason is the camera man that I want to have shoot me the most.

ジェイソンを簡単に説明すると、「独自のスタイルを持つ日本語ペラペラのカナディアン」カナディアンの前にデカイと付け加えてもいいかも知れない。１９０cmはあるだろう。でもデカイからと言って怖い感じはしない。むしろのんびりした優しいオーラをまとっている。日本語も相当うまいので、コミュニケーションに不自由しないどころか、日本語の微妙なニュアンスも分かってくれるので、撮ってほしい写真のニュアンスも伝えやすい。

彼はよくFMXの撮影に来てくれるのだけれど、その時もマイペースで黙々と写真を撮っているイメージがある。あまり自己主張せず空気に溶け込んで撮っている感じだ。だからこそジェイソンの写真はその場の空気を切り取ったような本当に雰囲気の良い写真が多いのだと思う。ジェイソンは、FMXライダーとして最も写真を撮ってもらいたいカメラマンの一人だ。
